Our company began when Ernest Kolbingen (my great great grandfather) took it upon himself to follow his dream of striking a fortune in the great gold rush of Palmer River in Queensland in 1872. He followed the gold rush as one of the first immigrants to the newly established Australia and was instrumental in establishing a gold bullion merchants in Queensland. As his business thrived he became a philanthropic pillar of his community, donating money to form a local school and offering donations to nearby hospitals. His love of quality and hard work enabled Ernest to create an established business that would stand the test of time. Now in it's fourth generation of Kolbingen owners, ABC Kolbingen Gold Bullion Merchants have been trusted for over a century to provide precious metals, bullion products for jewellers, refinery services and jewellery.
